O Morning Star

The sky no longer overcast;
The night of gloomy error past,
The bright, the glorious Morning Star,
Extends his influence wide and far.

O Morning Star still nearer draw;
Shine thro' thy Word, unfold Thy law!
Then shall we see the light increase
A Sun of righteousness and peace.

The gentle dew of truth distils
Refreshing valleys, plains and hills;
Each soul that seeks in Christ his good
Is now sustained with heavenly food.

The Spirit cries within us, Come!
The bride the Church invites us home;
